Associate Professor Steven Thng is a Senior Consultant at the National Skin Centre (NSC), where he is currently Head of the Pigment Clinic overseeing the management of all complex pigmentary disorders and Principal Surgeon for tissue grafting for patients with vitiligo. In January 2017, A/Prof Thng was appointed Executive Director of the Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS), where he led its transformation from a virtual institute to a dynamic institute running multi-institutional, interdisciplinary research programmes in chronic wound care, acne, skin microbiome, and atopic dermatitis.
He is currently Chief Dermatologist of SRIS, and his current research interest focuses on skin pigmentary disorder, atopic dermatitis, novel drug delivery systems, as well as advanced imaging for skin cancer and skin diseases. He has translated much of his research to improve patient care in dermatology.
